Paintings for people who notice quiet things.
I create tranquil oil landscapes—original and commissioned—rooted in thoughtful observation, understated places, and the belief that art should feel like it belongs in the rhythm of daily life.
My work is for those who value calm over clutter, intention over impulse, and beauty that reveals itself slowly.
Paintings you don’t just glance at—but return to. Pieces that feel lived-in, steady, and quietly meaningful over time.
Choosing art is personal
Choosing art isn’t about filling a wall.
It’s about what you’ll live with every day.
What you’ll notice in quiet moments and come back to again and again.
Most people pause longer over art than they expect. Not because they don’t know what they like, but because they want to get it right.
If you’ve ever hesitated, unsure what would feel right in your space or nervous to commission something, you’re not alone. You don’t need to be an art expert—just someone who trusts what feels like home.
Translations of fleeting moments into something steady.
A way of seeing
I’ve spent much of my adult life learning new places from scratch. New towns. Unfamiliar landscapes. Quiet stretches of water I hadn’t yet learned how to read.
Each time, I’d do the same thing: pack up my paints, walk out into the landscape, and let the act of painting slow me down enough to feel where I was. My breathing would settle. The noise would fade. A place that felt foreign would begin to feel familiar.
Over time, I realized not everyone wants—or has the chance—to wander into the landscape with a paint kit to find that sense of grounding. But I could bring it back with me.
That’s what my paintings are. Translations of fleeting moments into something steady. Work that invites you to pause, breathe, and really see, without needing to go anywhere at all.
I’m drawn to overlooked places and quiet light, the kind that asks you to linger. I believe art should offer a place to rest. Something you live with, not just look at, discovering new meaning over time
Meet the artist
I’m Calina Franzosa, a landscape painter working
primarily in oil.
My background spans art, writing, and education, training that taught me how to slow down, notice what others pass by, and translate complex, fleeting experiences into something approachable and lasting.
My paintings are collected by individuals who value calm, connection, and a sense of place in their homes. Those who commission a piece trust the process because it’s collaborative, unhurried, and grounded in experience.
Each painting is created with intention, with the understanding that it will become part of your daily rhythm.
What it’s like to work together
Whether you’re choosing an original painting or commissioning something personal, the process is designed to feel supportive from beginning to end.
With originals, it’s intuitive. You browse, notice what draws you back, and choose what feels right.
Many collectors describe this moment as recognition—not a decision.
With commissions, clients often come with a place in mind—a landscape they love, a meaningful location, or simply a feeling they want to live with.
From there, we work thoughtfully and collaboratively toward a piece that settles in quietly and feels like it always belonged.
