Custom Landscape Paintings Rooted in Memory and Meaning

I create original oil landscape paintings of places that matter, interpreted through light, atmosphere, and presence rather than replicated from photographs.

Each commission is an invitation to slow down and live with a place you care about—something familiar, steady, and quietly meaningful.

Commissioning a painting is a considered choice

Commissioning a painting can feel like a significant decision. Questions about size, process, or how the finished piece will feel in your space are natural—especially when the work is meant to hold meaning, not just fill a wall.

My commission work focuses exclusively on landscapes inspired by places that matter to you: a familiar coastline, a road you return to, or a location tied to memory.

Rather than copying a photograph, I interpret each scene through color, light, and atmosphere so the painting feels grounded, timeless, and lived with.

These paintings are a natural extension of my studio practice. Each commission is approached with the same care, attention, and pace as my original work.

The commission process

Step one: Begin the conversation
We’ll talk about the place, or feeling, you want the painting to reflect, along with where it will live and what size feels right.

Step two: Establish direction
I create drawings and oil sketches to explore composition and mood, making sure we’re aligned before the final piece begins.

Step three: Create and deliver
Your painting is developed slowly and intentionally in the studio, then carefully packaged for shipping, ready to frame and live with in your home.

I can feel the warmth of the sun setting in the painting. It brings a sense of joy and calm to our home.

Timing

I take on a limited number of commissions at a time so each piece can develop with care.

Most paintings are completed within
4 to 10 weeks, depending on scale and season. A more specific timeline will be confirmed once direction is established.

Pricing

Commissioned paintings are priced by size and are typically higher than available work in the shop, reflecting the time and attention involved in creating something personal.

A non-refundable deposit secures your place and begins the process, with the remaining balance due upon completion. I’ll guide you through sizing and investment during our initial conversation.

Common questions

Do you offer smaller commissions?
Yes. Commissions typically begin at 12 × 16, which allows enough space for the painting to unfold fully.

Can you work from photos?
Yes. Photos often serve as a starting point, but the final painting is always interpreted rather than copied.

What if I’m not sure what I want yet?
That’s perfectly okay. Many commissions begin with a memory, a landscape, or simply a feeling you want to live with.

If you’re drawn to the idea of commissioning a landscape painting, I’d love to hear from you.

Share a little about the place—or feeling—you’d like the piece to hold, and I’ll be in touch to talk through availability, size, and direction.

There’s no pressure. Just space to explore whether it feels like the right fit.
